This battle was a major turning point in the war. Not only did it weaken the German army, but it caused a retreat that lasted for the rest of the war. The Germans were now trapped from one side in Berlin. This greatly helped the Allies by putting them in a position of control and the Germans in despair. The Allies soon began planning to finally end the Nazi reign and WWII. The Americans began to consistently bomb high-value targets in Germany. The places that were bombed include Berlin, factories, military buildings, and the general center of the country. These runs were meant to further weaken the German army and their citizens morale.
